Reports not showing on calender day.
Please set the region and language to U.K.

Windows 7:
In order to get Samstock into UK settings you need to change your PC to US settings throughout, restart the computer and then change back again to UK.

Reports showing wrong sales data for wrong day

If your sales records were coming out a day before they should have (eg sales for 01.02.2012 logged to 31.01.2012).

Then the "end of day time within maintenance" needs to be before the time of Z collect time.

Samstock communication error code - see Samsevent log

These are the codes that can be found in the log file.dat if a communication failure occurs. The code relating to the failure is printed as the last item of the line relating to that date and time.

Code Meaning
- 1 = BAD ARGUMENT ENTRY
- 2 = FILE OPEN ERROR
- 3 = FILE INFORMATION WRONG
- 4 = FILE SIZE MISSMATCH
- 5 = ARGUMENT CONVERSION WRONG
- 6 = FILE WRITE ERROR
- 7 = UNKNOWN COMMAND
- 8 = TIME OUT
- 9 = PACKET SIZE ERROR
- 10 = PACKET NUMBER MISSMATCH
- 11 = BAD CRC
- 12 = MACHINE IS BUSY
- 13 = PRE POLL ERROR MAY NOT BE FETCHED Z REPORT EXIST
- 14 = PREPOLL COMMUNICATION ERROR
- 15 = REPORT CLEAR ERROR
- 99 = USER CANCEL

If a -13 or -14 error occurs when performing a Z Collect Data, perform a Z Collect (No Prepoll) in Samevent.

Creating barcodes ?

When creating a barcode for new products you need to make sure Samstock is set to create a readable barcode for the cash register barcode reader.

Set new barcode the be EAN-13 as this will readable by U.K. barcode scanners such as Labau / honeywell etc.

Import / Export into Excel - Barcode number change.
When importing into an Excel spreadsheet. You may experience a change in values in the fields. Look at the barcode field and it may not appear as a 8 or 13 digit number and instead may say something like 15E etc.
Please change the format of this field to be a number. This will ensure the import back into Samstock has been done correctly.
